Community
As a Community church we try to be a good neighbour. Being a good neighbour and having concern for our community is one way in which we can practically share the love of God.

This has led several of our members to become involved as school governors and teachers; or with youth organisations; or being part of community groups such as the KCC; or working at the White Swan centre. The church sponsors and provides articles for the local news letter, Killingworth News, and two of our leaders join with other ministers to visit local schools and take assemblies. We’ve set up weekly youth groups such as Friday Club at the White Swan centre and the twice weekly Footsteps parent and toddler group. Other members of our church organise and deliver the award winning CAP Money Course.

The walking group was started by Church members as was BELS and the Toy Library. In recent years we’ve begun twice yearly litter picks. We organise the annual Community Carol Service each year and carol singing in one of the estates; various community social events and trips are organised by the church; many of the stalls at Children in Need night are manned by church members.

In fact it is true to say that if there is something going on in Killingworth it’s quite likely that people from Community Church Killingworth are involved.
